1. open the app "whatsapp" on your phone
2. go to settings
3. click on "account"
4. select "request account info"
5. wait for the zip-file to download to your phone.
this might take up to 3 days.
6. click "export report" to download the file

whats app gives you very little data. you just get a relatively short html file with very basic data like the following:
- the time you generated the report
- the time you requested the report
- your phone number
- your name
- your connection state (if you are online or offline)
- since when you have been online, offline or inactive
- your previous connection ip
- your current connection ip
- your device type (e.g. iphone, …)
- your app version
- your devices os build number
- your devices manufacturer (e.g. apple)
- your device model
- your web/desktop version
- your web/desktop platform (e.g. electron, mac os 10.13.6/desktop)
- since when you have been connected via web/desktop
- your state of availabilty via web/desktop (e.g. inactive and since when)
- your about text and when you set that
- your profile picture and when you uploaded it
- your whats app contacts
- the groups you are in
this part shows if and when you accepted the latest terms of service and if there is a data sharing opt-out or not aswell as the data sharing opt-out time.
this includes information about the platform, network, network name, device and registration time.
these are your settings. it inludes the so called "last seen privacy", "profile photo privacy", "about privacy" and "status privacy". if for example everyone can see those things or not. it also includes a list of the numbers you have blocked. and if you can read receipts or not.
